I bought my GHD from Amazon.com. Loved it, till it started going on and off and making a clicking noise while I was trying to fix my hair. it had a two year warrenty so I called the company, they said since I had purchased it from Amazon, which was not an authorized dealer, they would not honor the two year warrenty, that I had to go through amazon.com. When I talked to amazon.com they told me they would NOt give me a replacement, and only when I have sent it back to them would they consider giving me back Half of what I paid! I am NOT happy with Amazon .com. I feel like I have been jipped out of my money and my straightener. My advice to anyone about amazon.com Check the fine print and then some! It never told me they were not an authorized Dealer, and now I am screwed! Is this the way to conduct business?? and if so PLEASE BEWARE!!!! always go through an AUTHORIZED DEALER!~!!!!!!!

The thing that was wrong with this item was the plates didn't close together fully all the way along, so it did not grip my hair. It did not give a sleek straightened look that I am used to with my old GHD's. I also don't think it got as hot as my old GHD styler. I returned it for a refund.

My hair stylists have always used GHD straighteners on my hair, and I finally broke down and bought one after using other, cheaper, straighteners. I have very curly hair, and the GHD gets my hair silky straight with no frizz! It does get a little bit of wave to it after about an hour, but that may just be the humidity and heat reacting with my hair. As soon as I go back over it with the GHD, it is perfectly straight again. It is authentic with the hologram sticker, circuit breaker plug, and GHD product registration. A great deal on a great straightener!
